Takahiro Mizuno (水野 貴弘 Mizuno Takahiro) is the main protagonist in both the anime and game.
Personality[]
Takahiro is a very diligent young jouster who became fond of the sport at a young age. With his skills in jousting, he has attracted the attention of several girls for him to be their squire.
He is very attached to jousting, even after he was unable to continue participating in the sport.
History[]
Takahiro is a Winford school sophomore at the Knight Department major base. He was a genius knight that had been touted as the undefeated junior department of Joust in their native Japan since he was a young child. Due to him having to study abroad in order to try to be active in a number of tournaments, he stays at his cousin's place.
Takahiro met and befriended Mio Kisaki, a girl who lived in the same neighborhood as him. They would eventually become best friends, and she even supported him in his matches. A few years ago, Takahiro studied under Julianus Aintree as his mentor for the Joust tournament to become a knight, but during that event, he was severely injured in the finals. As a result he had to give up the way of being a knight and was transferred to the squire department. From his many years of experience, Takahiro excels at reading the state of behaviors of both horses and opponent knights in duels.
Although proven little as a squire, he has a hidden talent that was recognized by Celia Cumani Aintree, the younger sister of his former master, Julianus Aintree, Noel Marres Ascot, Akane Ryuuzouji, Lisa Eostre, at the advice of Reina F. Avary. From all the attention he has gathered, Mizuno has been asked several times by the girls to serve as their squire for the tournament. However, there seems to be another reason as to why he is wanted, as many of the girls seem to have feelings for him.

- Takahiro's surname Mizuno means "water" (水) (mizu) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
- He has a horse named Sakura who is often called "spring breeze".
- In the manga, he is married to Celia Cumani Aintree.
